The GTB-UHD600-HBT and GTB-UHD600-HBTL 4K Ultra HD 600 MHz HDBaseT™ Extenders are now shipping. These new 4K Ultra HD extenders address one of the most significant issues that commercial installers face, and that is the extension of full bandwidth HDMI 2.0 over Category cabling – the most widely used extension medium.
Both are compact, high-performance solutions for extending full-bandwidth 600 MHz/18.2 Gbps HDMI 2.0 audio/video with HDR. The GTB-UHD600-HBT extends HDMI, RS-232, and 2-way IR up to 80 meters (264 feet) over a “Category” cable, while the GTB-UHD600-HBTL has a range up to 40 meters (132 feet) and does not offer RS-232 extension.
The new Gefen UHD 600 MHz product family takes the HDMI 2.0 platform to its highest level by enabling AV distribution at full specification of 4K 60 Hz at 4:4:4 chroma subsampling, along with HDR support. High Dynamic Range (HDR) delivers greater contrast between light and dark areas of a video image, resulting in tremendous improvement in picture quality and color depth. 600 MHz TMDS Clock and 18 Gbps data throughput capability are standard on all models.
The product line consists of the EXT-UHD600-12 1:2 Splitter, EXT-UHD600-14 1:4 Splitter, EXT-UHD600-18 1:8 Splitter, EXT-UHD600-41 4×1 Switcher, and the new EXT-UHD600A-44 4×4 Matrix and EXT-UHD600A-88 8×8 Matrix. All products are compliant with the latest HDCP 2.2 protocol and meet all the specifications of HDMI 2.0a standard, including the pass-through of 7.1 channels of LPCM and HBR (High Bit Rate digital audio).
Gefen’s UHD600 Series goes beyond the requirements of typical 4K systems, delivering stunning Ultra HD and DCI/Cinema picture up to 4096 x 2160 pixels at 60 frames per second without subsampling color.
The UHD600 product line creates a seamless bridge between the digital media of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Supporting the digital rights management standard for Ultra High Definition content, HDCP 2.2, as well as the legacy HDCP 1.4, Gefen’s EXT-UHD600 products can handle the signal routing needs for both existing and new components in commercial and residential AV systems.
Designing systems capable of distributing 4K Ultra High Definition media requires support for the content of today, and headroom for the content of tomorrow. The Gefen 4K Ultra HD 600 MHz 4×4 Matrix for HDMI routes signal from up to four 4K sources to up to four 4K displays or video zones. This new Matrix reinforces our commitment to provide commercial integrators with cutting-edge audio/video signal processing solutions.
The new Ultra HD 600MHz Series 4×4 matrix supports 18.2 Gbps of bandwidth and 600 MHz TMDS Clock frequency, the highest specified under the HDMI 2.0 standard. The Gefen EXT-UHD600A-44 is a 1U tall, rack-mountable enclosure that can also be placed on a shelf. It accommodates Gefen locking HDMI cables to ensure secure connections.
Reinforcing our commitment to provide commercial integrators with cutting-edge audio/video signal processing solutions, Gefen’s 4K Ultra HD 600 MHz 8×8 Matrix for HDMI supports 18.2 Gbps of bandwidth and 600 MHz TMDS Clock frequency, the highest specified under the HDMI 2.0 standard.
Full bandwidth support allows the EXT-UHD600A-88 to accommodate resolutions up to 4K Cinema-DCI (4096 x 2160 up to 60 Hz 4:4:4), and 4K Ultra HD (3860 x 2160 up to 60 Hz, 4:4:4) along with HDR (High Dynamic Range). HDCP 2.2 and the legacy HDCP 1.4 content protection algorithms are supported. Learn More
These splitters have been specifically designed to support multiple layers of cascading for flawless performance in large video distribution and signage applications, supporting up to hundreds of displays. Gefen’s exclusive Long Reach Power (LRP) feature provides 5V at 500 mA (as opposed to HDMI standard 55 mA) on pin 18 of HDMI outputs 1 and 2. This enhanced current capability enables select extender devices to be powered through their HDMI input port without the need for an external power supply.
This 4×1 switcher has been designed with ease of use in mind, including powerful control features such as a configurable Automatic Input Switching system. Automatic Input Switching selects the most recent connected or powered-up source, therefore minimizing unnecessary end-user interaction. It also features flexible and powerful control options including the front-panel, IR, RS-232, Telnet/UDP, and Gefen’s intuitive web server interface.
The UHD600 product line was designed to work with Gefen Syner-G software. EDID and HDCP management, status monitoring, and firmware updates can be done in minutes using Syner-G.
