HDMI
to DVI or DVI to HDMI Adapter
The HDMI to DVI Adapter lets you connect an HDMI to HDMI (M-M) cable
to a DVI to DVI (M-M) cable. The maximum recommended length of both
cables combined is 60 feet. There are HDMI to DVI cables available
in 3, 6, 10 and 15 foot cables offering 100% HDMI backward compatibility
with existing DVI devices.
HDMI
has been implimented by manufacturers such as Pioneer, Panasonic, Toshiba
, Sony and many others. These manufacturers are offering multimedia
products with HDMI connection as the standard. The demand for HDMI and
HDMI to DVI cables will be extremely large in the coming months.
Applications:
1- Extending HDMI cables by using existing DVI cables
2- Bridging between DVI cables and HDMI cables
Will
I lose any quality by converting from HDMI to DVI?
Absolutely not, the DVI specification is set to support a higher bandwidth
for computer and high definition (HD) resolutions. The HDMI specification
is set to support only HD resolutions (i.e. 480i, 480p, 720i, 720p,1080i).
You will not lose quality by changing to a different cable.
