Here's what someone had to say about this product:
"This week I received your 4x1 HDTV Switcher. I
hooked it up and it works beautifully. Thanks for providing a way
to connect more HD sources to my plasma tv without sacrificing picture
quality. I have been so pleased that I am recommending Gefen products
to other people in HD forums. Just wanted you to know that you have
another satisfied customer. Thanks again."

Any One of Four HDTV Sources to One HDTV Screen
4
HDTV Sources + 1 HDTV Screen = High Definition Versatility and Performance
The
4x1 HDTV Switcher offers unparalleled flexibility
in the setup of high definition theater and electronics systems. A plug
and play solution, the 4x1 HDTV Switcher connects four HDTV source devices,
including satellite set-tops, DVD players, TiVo systems and even DVI-based
computer systems, and links them to one high definition screen. You
simply select what source will be viewed on the screen using the Switcher
or its IR remote control. It can also be controlled using any universal
programmable remote device, offering an alternative to multiple remote
control confusion. An effective and reliable solution that eliminates
the need to purchase several high-definition screens, the 4x1 HDTV Switcher
requires no additional power supply to operate. Yet it is equipped with
a 5-volt DC input in the event that the unit requires additional power,
as in the case of a DVI source not outputting the proper amount of voltage.

High
Definition Television Defined
HDTV
(high definition television) is a rapidly emerging video standard that
transmits large amounts of visual data (resolutions up to 1920 x 1200
and 1080P) using DVI (digital visual interface) connectors, resulting
is crisp, highly defined visuals that resemble movies shot on 35mm film.
Since 2000, DVD players, computers, televisions and monitors have been
equipped with the 24-pin DVI connection ports. DVI is a transmitter
of choice for HDTV because it is a purely digital interface that retains
the integrity of the video signal through any transmission—even
when sent over long lengths of cable. With DVI, there is no digital-to-analog
or analog-to-digital conversion process that needs to take place before,
during or after transmission. This streamlined, straightforward process
makes DVI the current preferred interface for HDTV.
How
it Works
Simply
connect your HDTV to the Switcher’s DVI output. Then, using the
four high quality DVI cables that come with the 4x1 HDTV Switcher, plug
each one into the four source devices, then connect them to the Switcher’s
DVI inputs. Once the source devices and the HDTV are powered on and
connected, you simply switch between source devices using the RMT-4IR
remote control or your own universal remote.
The 4x1 HDTV Switcher is HDCP pass-through.
