The GefenPRO 8x8 HDMI Matrix w/4 ELR (Extra Long Range) extenders is now shipping, offering one of the most versatile solutions for high definition video integration and HDMI extension in one convenient enclosure. Up to eight HDMI sources can be routed to any eight displays located either close to the source or as far away as 330 feet (100m). High definition resolutions up to 1080p full HD with 3DTV pass-through and multi-channel audio are supported from source to display.
This matrix switcher comes equipped with four local HDMI outputs that can be connected directly to four displays using standard HDMI cables. Four ELR outputs using CAT-5 cable can be connected to four displays placed up to 330 feet from the matrix. One CAT-5 cable is used to deliver audio, video and power to each display using Gefen ELR technology based on HDBaseT.
“For installers and integrators, the GefenPRO 8x8 HDMI Matrix w/4ELR outputs consolidates equipment costs while giving high definition signal extension over a single CAT-5 cable, which in the past used to take two cables to reach even shorter distances,” said Hagai Gefen, president and CEO, Gefen. “With Gefen ELR technology we can reduce the cables to one per display and reach up to 100 meters in distance.”
Users control the GefenPRO 8x8 HDMI Matrix w/4 ELR using front panel buttons, web IP control, IR or RS-232. A small LCD on the front panel shows all status and settings. Advanced EDID options ensure stability during all switching for zero downtime. The rack mountable matrix also comes with advanced 24/7 technical support features as do all GefenPRO products.
