Gefen Unveils New Modular Matrix Line for 32x32, 16x16 or 8x8 Matrix Combinations with Built-in Signal Extension

Las Vegas, NV – Three new GefenPRO Modular Matrix systems support the connection of 8 sources to 8 displays, 16 sources to 16 displays or up to 32 sources to 32 displays. Each 8x8, 16x16 and 32x32 Matrix provides a flexible frame that can accommodate different combinations of inputs and outputs, with the option to add extension to both input and output sides. Different input and output modules can be installed in all three Modular Matrix enclosures to custom design the source/display configuration. In this capacity, each can provide cost savings if you require less than full capacity with the option to expand your matrix at a later date.

Each matrix supports both DVI and DisplayPort connections, offering professional-grade, cross-point matrix switching of resolutions up to 1920x1200. All come with hot-swappable, dual redundant power supplies for enhanced reliability and zero downtime. Additional features include output masking control and extensive EDID management. Matrix switching is through various control options, including front panel buttons,
RS-232, IP and IR.

“Integrators can now create their ideal matrix,” said Hagai Gefen, president and CEO, Gefen. “Because these Modular Matrix’s give supreme flexibility in the number of combinations you can create while providing matrix switching and high quality signal extension in one robust enclosure."

Two different long-range extension modules can be integrated with all three matrix systems: the 8x DVI ELR/POL (Extra Long Range/Power Over Line) and the 8x DVI FO (Fiber Optic). Both modules can be combined to create extension for up to 32 devices. The 8x DVI ELR/POL extends up to eight sources up to 330 feet (100m) using a single CAT-5 cable for each display. It also powers the receiver unit next to the display using POL so no power supply at the receiver side is needed.

The 8x DVI FO sends up to eight sources up to 1640 feet (500m) using a single fiber optic cable terminated in SC connectors for each display. It is best suited for challenging environments where EMI (electromagnetic interference) must be considered.
