Extend HDMI1.3 with Multichannel Audio and Deep Color using industry standard CAT5/6 cables

The WP-HDMI1.3-2CAT5 wall plate extender uses two lengths of CAT5/6 cable behind the wall to extend an HDMI signal. The wall plates are powered by the HDMI signal. The Input plate takes an HDMI input signal from a nearby AV source (such as a Blu-ray player) and is transmitted over the CAT5/6 cables to the Output wall plate. The Output wall plate delivers the original HDMI signal to a sink device (such as a HDTV display) in full resolution and with pristine audio support. Video resolutions of up to 1080p60 are supported.

How It Works

To wire the CAT5/6 cable, connect one CAT5/6 cable to the ''Cable 1'' port on either the Input or Output wall plate. Run the CAT5/6 cable behind the wall to the other wall plate and connect it to the ''Cable 1'' jack. Repeat the procedure for the ''Cable 2'' extension.

Once the CAT5/6 cables are connected, connect an HDMI source to the Input (source) wall plate at the HDMI Input connector. Connect the HDTV display's HDMI input cable at the Output (sink) wall plate on its HDMI output connector. Make sure AV source and sink (display) equipment is powered on, then you will see a crisp, clear picture on the HDTV display accompanied by pristine digital HDMI audio.

Note:  This device fully supports HDCP. Available plate color options are White and Ivory.

Extension distance depends on the type of CAT5/6 cable. Gefen recommends the following types of CAT5/6 cable for correct performance:

70 feet of extension can be reached with CAT5e cable.

75 feet of extension can be reached with CAT6 cable.
