Extend HDMI at 1080p an amazing 825 feet away over CAT5 cables!

The GefenTV HDMI CAT5-LR extends crystal-clear 1080p full HD visuals and up to 7.1-channel digital audio at a maximum distance of 825 feet (250m) using two standard CAT5 cables. A single CAT5 cable can be used if the HD display's technical parameters (EDID) are handled by the source equipment (please see Notes below for further details).

The HDMI CAT5-LR Extender can also extend DVI-D computer video by using an optional DVI-to-HDMI cable (please see the optional products shown at left).

How It Works

The GefenTV HDMI CAT5-LR Sender box connects to the HDMI source (computer, set-top box or DVD player) via a supplied HDMI cable. The HDMI CAT5-LR Receiver box connects to the HD display. A pair of CAT5 cables link the Sender and Receiver boxes, up to 825 feet (250m) apart. Power is connected to the GefenTV HDMI CAT5-LR Sender and Receiver. A crisp HD picture emerges on the remote HD display along with vibrant multichannel digital audio.

Note:  The GefenTV HDMI CAT5-LR is HDMI 1.2 and DVI 1.0 compliant. It does not support HDCP-encoded sources.

Single-cable note: If the EDID video frequency data parameters of the monitor are remembered by the source equipment, a single CAT5 cable can be used for signal extension instead of two cables since continuous capture of EDID information will no longer be neccessary to maintain a correct picture.

The enormous distance extension ability of the GefenTV HDMI CAT5-LR necessitates the use of analog signals to carry audio and video. A slight decay of the AV signal is normal at very long extension distances.
