What's the Difference?
Switcher
The latest high definition televisions contain either one or several HDMI inputs. Your HD components including your Blu-ray player, cable box, DVD player and game consol have an HDMI output. In some cases you may need to add additional HDMI inputs to your TV. In this case you can use the Gefen TV Switcher to ad an additional four HDMI inputs using the latest HDMI 1.3 technology.
Splitter
In some cases you may want to split your HDMI output from a device like a Blu-ray player, cable box, DVD player or game consol in order to display one of these devices on up to four screens at the same time. For example you may want your HDMI output from your satellite TV distributed to ever room in your house. The Gefen Splitter supports up to four mirrored outputs at the same time.
